Steamboat Howler Alpine Slide

CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER. RE-OPENING LATE MAY 2025. Scenic chairlift rides up to the top of the alpine slide which is a 2,400 foot long side-by-side track with over 20 turns. Ride on a sled where you control your speed. The track winds down the mountain side and through a forest back to the base. If the slide isn't your thing, purchase a scenic chairlift ride ticket and enjoy the views of town and Mount Werner. We have mountain bike carriers as well, you can load your bike and ride the chairlift up to get to some of the fun trails on the upper Emerald Mountain trail system or just ride down NPR, a flowy downhill trail. All proceeds from the alpine slide benefit the local youth of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.
